The Ypsilon is now 12 years old and while it is in desperate need of a replacement, or at the very least a comprehensive facelift, the Italian car manufacturer has instead decided to update it for the 2023 model year with just a handful of new and improved features.

Visually, 2023 marks the introduction of a new color dubbed Dew Green while those examples painted in Silver come complete with black accents on the grille, frames of the logo, and the lower bumper. For the most part, the 2023 Ypsilon looks exactly the same as it has done for the last decade and much to our surprise, it remains a popular model in Italy and was the nation’s second best-selling vehicle last year.

Some upgrades have also been made to the cabin of the hatchback. For starters, the 7-inch infotainment system has been updated to support wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A reversing camera and wireless smartphone charger will also making living with the Ypsilon a little easier.

Lancia’s designers have also crafted new blue trim for the dashboard and door panels. It also has green multicolored accents on the gear knob, steering wheel, vents, and a revised instrument cluster. The seats are also trimmed in a material created from recycled plastic collected in the Mediterranean. Lancia calls it ‘Seaqual Yarn.’

Italian buyers looking to pick up the keys to a 2023 Ypsilon can only order it with a mild-hybrid 1.0-liter three-cylinder petrol engine supplemented by a 12-volt BSG electric motor and a lithium-ion battery. It delivers 70 hp.
