Chesterton Introduces The 442C Cartridge Split Mechanical Seal

Engineered utilizing the global leading 442 Split Seal platform, Chesterton maintained all the significant form and fit capabilities of the 442 Split Seal while simplifying installation and enhancing seal performance.

Easy Field Repair The trade-off between a cartridge split design and field repair capabilities made with most cartridge split seals does not apply to the 442C Cartridge Split Seal.

The 442C design simplifies split seal repair by using a standard spare parts kit, enabling you to lower your inventory costs, enhance operation flexibility and speed up equipment turnaround.

Innovation Drives Performance The 442C incorporates many new technical innovations that simplify seal installation and increase seal performance and reliability. The 442C uses an Interlocking Face design (patent pending) with a unique holder that self-aligns the face halves in the rotating assembly. This ensures proper face alignment which critical to sealing success. Springs energize after installation, allowing for maximum space between seal faces during installation, simplifying seal installation.

With only two seal components, the 442C Cartridge Split Seal is easy to install, offers the greatest installation flexibility and is engineered to enhance sealing reliability like no other cartridge split seal.

Chesterton Split Seals have successfully sealed pumps and other rotating equipment with shaft sizes ranging from 1 inch (25 mm) to 30 inches (760 mm).
