County Durham-based Plastic Mouldings Northern has appointed a new general manager as it looks to target national and international expansion.

Katharine Elton has joined the growing Bishop Auckland-based company, which has doubled its turnover in the last two years.

She will join Freddy Bourdais and Mark Rigg on the management team, bringing with her more than 16 years' experience.

Most recently, Elton worked at Bridgewood UK.

She said: "I'm really excited to join the team at Plastic Mouldings Northern at such an instrumental time, there are so many plans for even further growth and expansion in the pipeline. Building relationships is key in the sector and I bring with me a wealth of strong supplier contacts which I've built up over the years. The company has a very strong reputation in the industry with two very experienced directors at the helm, and it’s great to be part of such a successful business model."

The business predominantly produces plastic formed parts across industries such as automotive defence, aeronautical, medical, precision engineering and food and its clients include Bentley, Rolls Royce and BAE Systems.
