On the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, John Kavanagh explained that the mass brawl that ensued after Nurmagomedov defeated McGregor did not warrant a hefty punishment for Nurmagomedov.

Meanwhile, a fight broke out in the octagon, as two men jumped into the cage and attacked McGregor.

After calling for a rematch, Kavanagh went on to explain that the brawl did not warrant a large punishment for Nurmagomedov.

“I hope they’re lenient towards him, not just because we want the rematch, but also because I like watching him,” he explained on the Joe Rogan Experience.

“I can stretch myself to understand his reaction.

“I can’t stretch myself to understand the reaction of the other guys, and what they did.

“For Khabib, he jumped over the fence and into the crowd, it’s not the end of the world.

“(On the man hitting Conor) I can’t understand that.

“For Khabib, it’s a foolish thing to do.”

Some had suggested Danis had verbally abused Nurmagomedov, and that was what led the Russian to act as he did.

Kavanagh put those rumours to bed, however, and stated nothing of the sort happened.

And he suggested it was perhaps some trolling Danis had done beforehand which set the ball rolling.

“Dillon didn’t say anything. I didn’t see what he said, but I could hear he didn’t say anything,” he said on the Joe Rogan Experience.

“I could see him beckoning him on.

“It was stupid, end-of-fight stuff.

“Maybe there was something else before, Dillon is a bit of a troll online.

“It really wasn’t a big deal, what Khabib did.”
