A WOMAN has sparked a fierce debate after asking whether her new manicure is green or blue.
Caitlin explained that she'd gone to get her nails done, and hadn't thought much of it when she chose the colour, which is called Aruba. Electric Nail File
However, when she got home and showed her wife, Leah said that the nails were blue.
In a video on TikTok, Caitlin referred to THAT dress - which people couldn't decide if it was white and gold or blue and black - as she said: "So I just got my nails done at the salon and I picked a colour which I think is green.
"But my wife thinks my nails are blue.
"So I thought, you know what, I'm going to ask some family members.
"And they are completely split. No-one knows what colour these nails are.
"Are they blue or are they green?"
She then showed off the nails, before revealing they had chrome on the top of them that she thinks may have "affected the colour".
"But these are the nails. Are they green, are they blue?" she asked.
"I'm going to show you the colour of the nails before I had the chrome put on top.
"What colour do you think this is?
"Honestly guys, this is just mind-blowing!"
"Is this another blue and black or white and gold dress situation?" Caitlin asked in the video caption.
And people in the comments section were immediately divided as to what colour the nail polish was.
"Sea foam green," one wrote.
"It's green, like a sagey colour," another added.
"Green, like a pistachio," a third said.
As someone else insisted: "Definitely green!"
But others disagreed, with one writing: "It’s 100% blue. Without a doubt haha!"
"Blue," another added.
"I say blue, I don’t see green??" a third commented.
"My opinion is blue," someone else said.
However, some people agreed with Caitlin that the chrome topper had changed the colour of the polish.
"Before the chrome it’s blue- but with it it does look a bit more pastel green," one wrote.
"Blue without chrome, but green with chrome," another added.
"Green, but without being on your nails blue," a third commented.
When THAT dress went viral in 2015, millions of people - including fashionistas Taylor Swift and Gigi Hadid - were divided whether its true colours were gold and white or black and blue.
Now, in a new study, neuroscientist Doctor Pascal Wallisch concludes that the differences in perception are down to our assumptions about how the dress was illuminated.
Those who thought that the dress, worn by the mother of a bride at a wedding in Scotland, was photographed in a shadow most likely saw the garment as gold and white.
But those who thought it was illuminated by artificial light were more likely to see it as black and blue.
He suggested these differing perceptions could be linked to a person's exposure to daylight.
