The Rack is a bracket system designed to securely hold window tint, paint protection film (PPF) and vinyl rolls. Creator Cory Ashby, owner of Classic Shades in Evansville, Ind., says it’s his answer to fumbling with film boxes between installations. Graphic Cutter
“It holds the film rolls, and they look nice and neat, so it’s not cluttering your shop,” says Ashby, whose family entered the industry in the 1980s. “It improves your efficiency because you’re not pulling film from boxes. We pick up the film from The Rack, located next to our plotter. This is mainly for plotter guys.”
Ashby, who cites the creation as one of his proudest industry accomplishments, started his industry journey in 2014. The Rack, distributed by Autobahn Window Films and Tint Fam, features a quick-load design to maximize efficiency.
Ashby has sold 95 units of The Rack and has received positive feedback from industry peers. “Everyone that has gotten one has messaged me pictures of it installed in their shop,” he says.
Surrounded by shops focused on competition, Ashby has shipped The Rack to several local window tint dealers to establish a connection.
“They don’t talk to each other,” says Ashby, who conceptualized The Rack two years ago. “It’s all about competition, but I’m trying to change that around here.”
